Celadon Books is excited to announce their second book with Patricia Marx and Roz Chast: YOU CAN ONLY YELL AT ME FOR ONE THING AT A TIME. The book was finalized after the success of the writer-illustrator duo’s first book with Celadon, WHY DON’T YOU WRITE MY EULOGY NOW SO I CAN CORRECT IT? A MOTHER’S SUGGESTIONS, acquired by Senior Vice President and Co-Publisher Deb Futter and published in April 2019.
This collection of love and relationship advice, complete with witty tidbits by Patricia and humorous illustrations by Roz, will make you laugh, remind you why your relationship is better than everyone else’s, and solve all your problems.
Nuggets of advice include: It is easier to stay inside and wait for the snow to melt than to fight about who should shovel.
“WHY DON’T YOU WRITE MY EULOGY NOW SO I CAN CORRECT IT? was a singular, hugely well received publication,” says Deb. “How could we not do another book with this genius team of author and illustrator? To say they are singular doesn’t even begin to cover it…”
Author Patricia Marx has been contributing to The New Yorker since 1989. She is a former writer for Saturday Night Live and Rugrats, and is the author of several books, including Let’s Be Less Stupid and Him Her Him Again the End of Him. She has taught screenwriting and humor writing at Princeton, New York University, and Stonybrook University. She was the recipient of a 2015 Guggenheim Fellowship.
Roz Chast, a longtime cartoonist for The New Yorker, has loved to draw since she was a child growing up in Brooklyn. She has received numerous awards and honors and has published many books, including the New York Times best-seller and National Book Award finalist, Can’t We Talk About Something More Pleasant? Her most recent book is Going Into Town: A Love Letter to New York.

YOU CAN ONLY YELL AT ME FOR ONE THING AT A TIME will publish in time for Valentine’s Day gift giving, in January 2020.
