Celadon Books Acquires True Crime Narrative Nonfiction By Elon Green

Celadon Books is pleased to announce LAST CALL by Elon Green. Vice President, Executive Editor Ryan Doherty acquired the book from David Patterson at Stuart Krichevsky Agency.

Last Call is the gripping true story of the Last Call Killer and the gay community of New York City that he preyed upon. The Last Call Killer targeted gay men in the ’80s and ’90s and had all the hallmarks of the most notorious serial killers. Yet because of the sexuality of his victims, the sky-high murder rates, and the AIDS epidemic, his murders have been almost entirely forgotten. New York Times contributor Elon Green is the first to tell the story of this serial killer and the decades-long chase to find him.

"A serial killer with this chilling of an MO that I had never heard of? I'm in,” said Doherty. “And in the hands of Elon Green's brilliant storytelling, readers are going to love reading about, and being terrified by, the Last Call Killer. This is true crime literature at its best."

Elon Green has written for The New York Times Magazine, The Atlantic, The New Yorker, and the Columbia Journalism Review, and appears in Sarah Weinman's forthcoming anthology of true crime. He has been an editor at Longform for nearly a decade.

Last Call will be published in March 2021 by Celadon Books, a division of Macmillan Publishers.
