Celadon Books to publish memoir by Patrick O'Connell

CELADON BOOKS ACQUIRES BLOOD SUN RISING BY PAUL PRINGLE

Celadon is thrilled to announce a new book from Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist and author of BAD CITY Paul Pringle.

BLOOD SUN RISING distills four decades of reporting into a fresh portrayal of a most violent and corrupt era of crime in L.A., seen through the eyes of Bernard C. Parks, the unyielding chief of police who tried to stem the tide.

“BAD CITY is quite simply one of the best books that I have ever had the pleasure of working on,” says Ryan Doherty, Vice President and Editor-in-Chief at Celadon Books. “So when Paul proposed to write an epic book about forty years of crime in Los Angeles (Manson, Patty Hearst, Rodney King, OJ Simpson, Biggie Smalls, and more!), all with a fabulous central character of former chief of police Bernard C. Parks, I knew we had to publish it.”

Doherty acquired the book through an exclusive submission by Will Lippincott and Jen Marshall at Aevitas Creative Management.
