About the Author

Lars Anderson is the New York Times bestselling author of twelve books, including The Mannings and The Storm and the Tide. Five of his books have been optioned for movies.

A twenty-year veteran of Sports Illustrated, Anderson wrote over two dozen cover stories for the magazine, with a readership of over twenty-two million. As a senior writer for Bleacher Report and CNN.com, Lars won the Associated Press Sports Editors contest for the top feature in the nation for his 2017 story, “The Death of a Teenage Quarterback.” His work has been featured in The Best American Sports Writing series.

A senior instructor at the University of Alabama in the Department of Journalism and Creative Media, Anderson earned his master’s degree from the Graduate School of Journalism at Columbia University. He lives in Birmingham, Alabama, with his children Lincoln, Autumn, and Farrah.
