Ryan Doherty (he/him) is VP, editor-in-chief at Celadon Books, where he has been since the publisher’s inception in 2017. He focuses on upmarket thrillers, some literary fiction, and a variety of non-fiction. Prior to joining Macmillan, he was the Vice President of literary development for Sony Pictures Entertainment, focusing on book to film and television development. Before that, Ryan was a senior editor at Ballantine Books. Over his career, he has edited the #1 New York Times bestseller The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides, the New York Times bestseller The Whisper Man by Alex North, the Pulitzer Prize-winning Tom’s River by Dan Fagin, and books from Ali Abdaal, Elon Green, Paul Holes, Roland Lazenby, John L. Lennon, Kate Murphy, Bryan Lee O’Malley, Paul Pringle, Abe Streep, Katie Sturino, Amy Tintera, and John Vercher.
