Celadon Books Acquires Debut Novel HONEY by Isabel Banta

Celadon Books is excited to announce the acquisition of the debut novel HONEY by Isabel Banta, author and Associate Publicist at Penguin Random House. In the vein of DAISY JONES AND THE SIX with the vibrancy of Stephanie Danler's SWEETBITTER, HONEY's coming-of-age story reimagines the oversexualized and idolized young female pop stars of the late '90s and early 2000s, giving them the fresh, multifaceted story they deserve.

"HONEY is full of nostalgia for the early 2000s era of pop music, but it also gives voice and nuance to these bright young women who were oversexualized and underestimated," says Randi Kramer, Celadon's Associate Editor. "Through the lens of all the young, famous women speaking up about their mental health today, Isabel Banta gives us a new, fresh angle on beloved figures, and I can't wait for readers to meet these characters."

Kramer acquired the novel at auction, for publication in 2025, by Jamie Carr at The Book Group (US).
