Celadon Books Acquires New Psychological Thriller by Jean Hanff Korelitz in Two-Book Deal

Celadon Books is pleased to announce our latest acquisition, THE PLOT by Jean Hanff Korelitz. Co-Publisher and Senior Vice President Deb Futter acquired the psychological thriller from Suzanne Gluck at William Morris Endeavor in a two-book deal.

In The Plot, a failed novelist encounters an arrogant young writer with a brilliant idea for a book. The novelist steals the plot, which is based on a real murder, and he’s soon at risk for losing more than his career.

“Jean Korelitz is the rare writer who can spin a singular and suspenseful plot and marry it with beautiful prose,” said Futter. “She is the master of smart entertainment. I’ve worked with her on her last three books and am delighted she has joined the Celadon list. I can’t wait to publish THE PLOT.”

Jean Hanff Korelitz is the author of six novels, including You Should Have Known — soon to be adapted as the David E. Kelley-produced HBO series The Undoing — and Admission, adapted as a film, starring Tina Fey and Paul Rudd.

The Plot will be published in fall 2021 by Celadon Books, a division of Macmillan Publishers.

Two compact discs (CDs) with shiny, reflective surfaces are overlapping each other on a white background. The discs display a spectrum of colors due to the light reflection, creating a rainbow-like effect.
