Celadon Books Acquires Nonfiction Book THE BATTLE FOR KYIV by Andrew Kramer

Celadon Books is proud to announce the acquisition of New York Times Ukraine Bureau Chief and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Andrew Kramer's THE BATTLE FOR KYIV, an account of how heroic Ukrainians saved their city in the early days of the war in an outcome that presaged the ensuing struggle. This nonfiction book is told through battle-scene reporting and the stories of unlikely warriors, along with the author's uniquely personal connection to both Moscow and Kyiv.

"Ukraine's courageous resistance to Russia's invasion has riveted the world for almost a year, and Andrew Kramer's coverage for the New York Times has stood out in capturing its importance and drama," says Executive Editor Bill Hamilton. "At Celadon, we are proud that Andrew will now draw on his experience and knowledge to write the definitive account of the single most dramatic event of the war: the battle for Kyiv and the defeat of the Russian invaders by the city's determined citizens. He has an intimate familiarity with the city and its people, and we couldn't think of anyone who could better write their story."

THE BATTLE FOR KYIV was acquired by Ryan Doherty, VP, Editorial Director, and Hamilton from Bridget Wagner Matzie and Todd Shuster at Aevitas Creative Management (world English).
