A mystery in the vein of Chris Whitaker and Liz Moore, HEATHER is set in New Jersey’s legendary Pine Barrens and inspired by real events, following an ambitious female chief of police thrust into a cold case that hits shockingly close to home and a seemingly perfect mother haunted by a choice she made as desperate teenager decades ago, examining the complexities of motherhood, sisterhood, friendship, and the life-changing power of a shattering secret.

Doherty acquired the book from Sarah Bedingfield at Levine Greenberg Rostan. HEATHER is scheduled to be published in Spring 2026.
